Beam Renovation
Whether you have recently purchased your home or are looking to renovate and refresh existing beams and timber features in your property, Heritage Beams provides an alternative and environmentally friendly solution to the potentially damaging and abrasive methods such as shot and sandblasting, chemical stripping and other abrasive techniques. These methods can be messy, disruptive and can use toxic chemicals which can damage the grain of the wood and ruin unique historical and architectural markings on beams.
In many cases these processes are not compliant with grade I or II listed building regulations.
Heritage Beams work sympathetically with the existing features and natural grain to swiftly and efficiently transform dark, painted, stained or fire and water damaged wood.
Decorating
Heritage Decorating offer a full painting and decorating service to compliment your beam restoration or for stand alone painting projects.
Based in East Sussex and the wider Kent area our family team have over 25 years experience in the trade and therefore have extensive knowledge and skill to be able to complete any aspect of your painting and decorating needs to the highest standard. Our method of working with the wood is inspired from ancient Roman techniques and involves a series of processes: preparation, toning, layering, graining and finally protecting the timber. This process revitalises the wood and highlights any significant markings and the natural beauty of the grain. Each home is unique, as is the character of the beams and timber features, our team understands this and will work closely with you to deliver a bespoke service to suit your needs and overall vision of the final project.
We work with both interior and exterior timber and can add extra protective layers to help preserve outdoor beams and features to bring light, character and style to your home and outdoor living spaces.
